This is a recipe that I return to time and time again when I’m in a hurry. It’s easy to throw together and can be cooked in the oven or in the crock pot. It’s great either way. The flexibility makes it a pork chop recipe that is one of our favorites.

When I first found this recipe and looked at the ingredients, I thought, “This is either going to be delicious or terrible.” The mixture of cranberry sauce, onion soup mix, and French salad dressing just seemed odd to me. But I decided to give it a shot knowing that we would either love it or hate it.
We loved it! Even though the ingredients sound strange, they’re awesome when mixed together. I’ve even used this same sauce mix and substituted chicken for pork chops. We never get tired of it made either way.
Recipe for Cranberry Pork Chops
Cranberry Pork Chops
- 6 medium pork chops
- 1 can cranberry sauce
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 2/3 bottle French salad dressing you can substite Catalina dressing as well
Spray 9x13 pan with nonstick cooking spray and add raw pork chops.
Mix cranberry sauce, soup mix, and salad dressing together till well blended. Pour over pork chops.
Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 45-55 minutes till chops are done. The sauce makes a delicious gravy that is great served over potatoes or rice.
To cook in a crock pot cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4-6 hours.
We usually serve this with mashed or baked potatoes topped with the sauce mixture. However, I didn’t have any potatoes this particular meal so we served it with rice instead. My son likes to serve his pork chops and gravy over bread so that he can get every drop of the gravy/sauce.
One thing I particularly like about this recipe is its flexibility. If I’m thinking ahead, I really like cooking it in the crock pot (I love my crock pot and can’t imagine any kitchen without one!). But it’s just as easy to throw it in the oven and come back when it’s done. Likewise, I like that I can vary the meat I use. I’m sure it would be good to use with kielbasa as well.
